Arts & Leisure

Langport & District History Society
The Society meets monthly, usually on the first Monday of the month, in Langport Library, when visiting speakers are invited to give illustrated talks on subjects of local historical interest. It also arranges visits to places of interest in the region and undertakes research into local history.

Langport Bridge Club
The Club meets on Mondays at 7.15pm in the Ridgway Hall, Stacey's Court.

Langport Flower Club
The Club is a member of the National Association of Flower Arrangement Societies. Meetings are held on the 3rd Monday of each month at All Saints Hall, Langport at 7.30p.m.

Langport Leisure Painters
Langport Leisure Painters welcomes anyone interested in painting or drawing or both to their weekly meetings in the Ridgway Hall, off Bow Street, Langport every Thursday morning 10am to 12 noon.

Langport Book club meets once a month on the last Tuesday of the month at ArtTeaZen at 7.30pm. We are a friendly group who enjoy reading but do not intellectualise the books we read. New members always welcome.

Sedgemoor Gardens Club

Langport Community Cinema
Langport Community Cinema is an accessible, mobile cinema for all residents of Langport and surrounding villages. We have regular film evenings at Great Bow Wharf, bringing the best of world cinema and independent films to Langport.

Curry Rivel Music Club
The Curry Rivel Music Club has just published its programme for the new concert season. The concerts will be held in September and October 2011, March and April 2012 thereby avoiding the winter months and possible bad weather. The YFC meets at Kelways on Mondays at 8pm. We take part in sports, public speaking, pantomimes and drama, social activities, raft races - you name it, we do it!

Voluntary Groups

Langport & Somerton Rotary Club
Rotary supports community projects and individuals locally, nationally and internationally. Its biggest international project at present is working to complete the worldwide eradication of polio. The Rotary Club of Langport and Somerton meets most Thursday evenings at 6.30pm at the Langport Arms Hotel.
