Curry Rivel Music Club

The Curry Rivel Music Club has just published its programme for the new concert season.

The concerts will be held in September and October 2011, March and April 2012 thereby avoiding the winter months and possible bad weather. All concerts will begin at the earlier time of 7.00pm and be held in St Andrew’s Church, Curry Rivel.

Our exciting programme is as follows:-

Marcus is an award winning young singer, sponsored by the Countess of Munster Musical Trust.

Saturday 29 October 2011. James Turnbull, oboe with Elizabeth Burgess, piano. N.B. Change of date and venue
Due to unforeseen circumstances, it has been necessary to change both the date and venue for this October concert. The concert will now be on Saturday 29 October at 7.00pm in the Village Hall (Robert Sewers Hall) in Curry Rivel. James Turnbull has called his programme “The Romantic Oboe” and it will include music by Schubert, Brahms and Franck. He will be accompanied by Elizabeth Burgess, piano.
Tickets will be available on the door and there will be an interval for wine or coffee.

Thursday 15 March 2012. Lauren Scott, harp and Clare Southwood, flute.
Lauren is back by popular demand after playing for us informally last year and is joined by Clare, Professor of Flute at the Royal Academy of Music.

The final concert of the season is a very special occasion given by an international celebrity.
