Langport & Somerton Rotary Club
There are more than 1.2 million service-minded men and women belonging to 31,000 Rotary Clubs in 166 countries and there are 55 Rotary Clubs in the local District 1200, which includes Somerset and parts of Dorset and Wiltshire. Rotary, best summarised by its motto "Service above Self", supports community projects and individuals locally, nationally and internationally. Its biggest international project at present is working in collaboration with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the World Health Organisation to complete the worldwide eradication of polio. Rotary Clubs meet weekly to arrange a social and service programme, and membership is by invitation. Your local Rotary Club of Langport and Somerton meets most Thursday evenings at 6.30pm at the Langport Arms Hotel, Bow Street, Langport. New members are most welcome.
